Project scope

What is the main goal for this project?

The primary objective of this project is to provide Conestoga students with a real-world HR consultancy experience, focusing on addressing critical workplace challenges in areas such as communication strategies, team dynamics, conflict management, inclusivity, or DEI planning. Students will collaborate with the employer to develop a comprehensive project proposal during the Fall 2023 semester and subsequently implement the project during the Winter term starting in January 2024.

What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?

Project Proposal Development (Fall 2023):

  • Collaborate with the employer to understand their specific HR challenges.
  • Conduct research to identify relevant solutions and strategies.
  • Create a comprehensive project proposal outlining objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Ensure that the proposal aligns with the project's focus areas (communication, team dynamics, conflict management, inclusivity, or DEI planning).

Project Implementation (Winter 2024):

  • Execute the project plan as outlined in the proposal.
  • Continuously communicate with the employer to provide updates and seek feedback.
  • Apply problem-solving skills to address any unexpected challenges.
  • Deliver a final report and presentation summarizing the project outcomes and recommendations.

How will you support learners in completing the project?

  • Regular Communication: The employer will maintain open communication with the learners throughout the project. They will provide guidance, feedback, and clarification when needed.
  • Resource Access: Learners will have access to any necessary documents, data, or resources provided by the employer.
  • Feedback Loop: Learners can expect timely feedback on their project proposal, progress, and final deliverables, helping them refine their consultancy skills.
