psychologyThe undergraduate work placement program involves pairing an undergraduate placement student with a host organisation, where they complete 50 hours of work under the supervision of a mentor from that organisation. The 50 hours of work generally take the form of a project completed between October and April (when in that time the hours are done is very flexible). Projects can be conducted in person or remotely, or a combination of the two. Projects can be completed by an individual student or a team of students.
Learners
This is highly project specific. For examples please see our webpage here: https://www.stir.ac.uk/student-life/careers/employers/recruiting-our-students/student-projects/psychology-placements/
Project Examples
Requirements
The project should increase the student's understanding of psychology in a work context -- broadly defined. Because psychology graduates go into many different areas, it is very flexible. For example, we have students do befriending, organise events, create outreach materials, do literature surveys, contribute to business plans, conduct and analyse client satisfaction surveys, etc. For more information, please see our webpage here: https://www.stir.ac.uk/student-life/careers/employers/recruiting-our-students/student-projects/psychology-placements/
