Project Examples
Requirements
Starting this October, multiple teams of students will spend 24 hours per pair making maps for your organization.
Using ArcGIS and data that you provide, multiple teams can work to update your property map, and to make a drill hole location map, and to digitize maps into a GIS format (Shapefile or Geodatabase).
Your organization will have the opportunity to work with the next generation of mineral exploration graduates as they develop maps to be used in your organization's assessment reports.
The highest rated maps of 6 teams, as judged by the course instructor, TA's, and students, will be selected and sent to you. You will act as a judge to select the winning team.
Additional company criteria
Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:
Be available for a quick phone call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the course.
Provide a dedicated contact who will be available to answer emails or phone calls to address student’s questions.
Provide necessary data and information required for students to work on the maps you need.
Must be willing to work with multiple student groups (each group will have a communication lead). Creating a detailed scope document to specify the needs of your organization for the student groups may help reduce time spent interacting with multiple student groups.
