tourism online communication customer serviceLooking to elevate your organization, and bring it to the next level? Bring on students from St Clair College to be your virtual interns, in a project-based experience. Students will work on one or more projects of your choosing over the internship period, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools.
All students will be required to complete a work practicum unit as a part of this program. While on work placement the student will gain related practical experience in the Tourism and Travel field, refine their customer service skills, and have an opportunity to demonstrate their professional commitment to a potential employer. Each student will be required to complete a detailed report, and include an employer evaluation in that report
Student placements will only occur virtually.
Learners
Deliverables will vary depending on the scope of the work placement. However, these deliverables must be discussed and agreed upon prior to the start of the partnership.
Project Examples
Requirements
Students can complete a substantial project for your organization over the placement period. We suggest providing a starting project, but as the placement goes on there may be other duties or projects the student is asked to complete as well. Providing a central project creates structure for the placement, and gives the student (and company) a tangible goal.
Additional company criteria
Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:
A representative of the company will be available to answer questions from students in a timely manner for the duration of the project.
A representative of the company will be available for a pre-selection discussion with the administrator of the program to review the project scope.
Provide ongoing support and mentorship to students throughout the placement. Students will interact virtually with their primary contact no less than once a week.
