Discussion with students, where their ideas about what the project will focus on are described to the organization. The organization will give feedback and then approve the student groups to move forwards.

- A 2 to 3-page pamphlet that applies scientific research to a human factors issue that is important to your organization.
- Materials for a 15-minute lesson, which teaches your crews about the human factors issue.

Project Examples
Requirements
Starting this September, a class of student-consultants working in teams of four will spend 450 collective hours researching and developing solutions to your human factors challenge.
Based on your needs and scientific research, the groups will develop an educational document and training that will help your organization improve well-being, safety, and/or efficiency through a human factors approach.
Project topics may include, but are not limited to:
- Workload and/or automation management.
- Communication, leadership, teamwork.
- Decision making.
- Situation awareness.
- Managing distractions.
- Authority gradients (experienced captains paired with inexperienced FOs).
Additional company criteria
Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:
Provide final feedback on pamphlet and training materials (esimated 2 hour time commitment). Optional - attend the final student presentations on campus occurring on November 28th from 11:30-2:20pm.
Designate a point of contact for student group 'Project Lead'.
Be avaialble for a 20-30 minute phone/teleconference call with students when beginning project, to share ideas for your human factors topic area. A 30 minute meeting to provide feedback to project lead as ideas are forming. Potentially a few other touch-points with student groups. Estimated 5 hour time commitment throughout the project.
