Project Examples

Requirements

Beginning this May, an MBA student will be paired with your organization to work in an area of your choosing for over 480 hours. Students can be engaged for one or more particular projects, or more generally on a particular focus area, and must spend at least 12-weeks full time with your company.

The students typically have between 2-8 years of work experience, and are among the top MBA students globally. Their areas of focus could be marketing, finance, market research, growth strategy, accounting, or another area linked to their studies, but should be sufficiently complex to provide a challenging work experience and benefit to your organization.

Sample areas of focus for the students include, but are not limited to:

  • Creation of financial statements and a pitch deck for a start-up to provide to investors.
  • Developing a user acquisition strategy for a new mobile app.
  • Providing an international expansion strategy for a growing business.
  • Conceiving, designing and developing marketing initiatives for cross platform campaigns spanning mobile and web
  • Developing a market analysis of fund managers and investors
  • Identifying the scope of a certain technology within a particular sector (ex. financial); understanding best practices for implementing this technology across the globe and developing strategies to position your company in the Canadian market
  • Analyzing purchasing data to anticipate future needs, analyzing stock rotation, and optimizing inventory control procedures
  • Assisting in designing the marketing strategy for increasing the market share in the Chinese or other international markets

Note: Payment is not mandatory, but preference will be given to industry partners who are able to offer some compensation, as an honorarium or full salary.

The International MBA is a 2-year program that prepares the student to operate efficiently in global markets. The students have to complete a mandatory summer internship in a country where they have not been in the last 10 years. The students that are looking for internships in Canada are international students.
