Do you have a creative business opportunity or problem that you need support on? TreeFort at Georgian College embeds projects directly into the curriculum for students to tackle as apart of their learning. Projects are professor-led and suitable for businesses with minimal to no marketing to date. The clients selected would be prepared to pay a TreeFort project fee plus funding the awards for the top teams.

Project Examples

Requirements

The Social Media Marketing course is one of the many offered programs at Georgian College that could have a TreeFort project implemented. Students in teams of 4-5 will build a Social Media Plan for your business and provide actionable recommendations.

Areas of focus for this project include but are not limited to:

  • Perform a situation analysis and a complete SWOT table.
  • Perform a social media audit, report results, and describe insights gained.
  • Define target audiences for the brand on social media.
  • Explain the current promotion, concept, character, theme, and tagline that the brand is doing.
  • List how the current effort will be integrated with the new social media big idea.
  • Identify the top social channels where the target audience is active.
  • For each social network, describe the type of content, culture, and how the big idea fits.
  • Explain the content the brand can create or co-create to match target audience interests.

Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

These projects are paid opportunities, including a small project fee and awards for the students. Top 3 places will earn an award. The cost will be discussed between Alison Durtnall and the partnering organization.

Be available for a quick phone call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the course.

Provide a dedicated contact who is available to answer periodic emails or phone calls over the duration of the project to address students' questions.

Be available to attend kick off and final presentations with the students either in-person or virtually.
