Looking to elevate your organization, and bring it to the next level? Bring on students from University of East London to be your student-consultants, in a project-based experience. Students will work on one main project over the course of the semester, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools.

Students with subject-specific knowledge will team up to offer a consultancy service to a business client. The team will work with the business to redefine the problem, opportunity or service required.

Expected outcomes and deliverables

The team will clarify the project objective(s) with the business and present their proposal, solution, or recommendations at the end of the project through:

  • a poster within a 5 to 10-minutes presentation, and
  • an up to 1500-words brief report.

Requirements

Students in groups of 5 will work with your company to identify your needs and provide actionable recommendations, based on their in-depth research and analysis.

Each project needs to focus on one subject area from the list below:

  • Marketing
  • Human Resource Management
  • Business Law
  • Accounting and Finance
  • Economics and Finance
  • International Business Management
  • Business Management, strategy or operation

There is a wide range of potential project focus such as, but not limited to:

  • Improving customer experience
  • Developing digital media communication or a campaign idea
  • Conducting a brand audit or recommending a new brand identity
  • Identify a market opportunity
  • Suggest a market penetration plan
  • Evaluate the work environment
  • Suggest ways to improve a work environment
  • Recruitment, or training process or policy
  • Flexible or remote working system recommendations
  • Diversity and inclusion practices
  • Accounting or Financial management issues
  • Macroeconomics and/or sector level analysis
  • Corporate Finance or Portfolio Management Advising
  • Business legal issues such as in labour law or trade law
  • Copyright and patents
  • Legal advice to newly formed enterprises – sole traders, partnerships and registered companies
  • Legal advice on employment status, liability for employees misconduct
  • Product liability and supply of goods and services

Additional company criteria

Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

A representative of the company will be available to answer questions from students in a timely manner for the duration of the project.

A representative of the company will be available for a pre-selection discussion with the administrator of the course to review the project scope.

Provide relevant information/data as needed for the project.
