A document’s design often conveys more than the content of the document itself. Well-designed layouts and visual content impart confidence and professionalism, while poor design can make consuming content a chore. In this project, student-designers will work to create a professionally-designed digital document(s) of your choice.

The final project deliverables include:

  1. Logo design
  2. Marketing poster
  3. Press kit
  4. Final presentations will be given to the client in the form of a self-playing audio-video and design brief

Project Examples

Requirements

Using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and/or InDesign, individual students will apply their design skills to customize an organizational document of your choosing. The document can be a template or can be created for a specific one-time use and include written content and images that you provide.

Examples include, but are not limited to:

  • An internal or external newsletter
  • A poster
  • A marketing flyer (both for print and online)
  • A brochure
  • Interface design revision of your website
  • A case study template
  • A 2 to 4-page branded whitepaper with design layout
  • A marketing collateral piece agreed upon by client and professor

Additional company criteria

Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

Provide a dedicated contact who is available to answer periodic emails or phone calls over the duration of the project to address students' questions.

Be available for a quick phone call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the course.

Produce an informal video introducing company, expectations, and deliverable(s), so that online students can access video at their convenience. Please provide link to Dr. Harris.
