Project Examples

Requirements

Students can complete a substantial project for your organization over the placement period. We suggest providing a starting project, but as the placement goes on there may be other duties or projects the student is asked to complete as well. Providing a central project creates structure for the internship, and gives the student (and company) a tangible goal. marketing

Project examples that students can complete may include, but are not limited to:

  • Comparison between different investment opportunities.
  • Analysis of financial ratios (operating, profitability and liquidity): benchmarking relatively to the industry, to competitors, to equity indices and to past trends.
  • Forecasting future cash flows.
  • Estimation of the cost of capital.
  • Development of scenarios.
  • Comparison between different investment opportunities.
  • Optimal allocation of resources.
  • Evaluation of overall financial performance.

Additional company criteria

Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

Provide a dedicated contact who will act as the student's primary supervisor over the duration of the virtual placement. A secondary contact should be provided as a backup. Students will interact virtually with their primary contact on a daily basis, or as needed.

At the completion of the Placement the student's supervisor will be asked to fill out an evaluation form.

Placements are unpaid, for-credit experience for students, but honorariums are welcomed if your organization is able to provide a stipend for the student.
