Yours is a great summary that spans across humanity's efforts in maintaining order and civil society. That was a great double segway into religion versus military order because both have shaped human history through the ages, and often they were (and still are) one and the same. It puts our laws into perspective when we enforce Military Rules of Conduct and Engagement and yet try to uphold civil laws that allow for uncompromising rights for people who are not following the rules themselves. Follow up on this idea with a short examination of the rights of prisoners of war and prisoners who are incarcerated here in Edmonton. That would be a nice cap on the work you've been doing around Human Rights. Good work.
