Deven was impossible to give up on but i felt many times he had given up on the projects. Through many resources provided, time extended and support to complete deliverables, Deven did tidy up all loose ends in the completition of his projects. I would imply that professional maturity has not had the opportunity to be practiced or learnt along the course of his experiences to date. Being understanding of this, sometimes reguiding and remaining firm but flexible to a point was the refocus and encouragement Deven needed. I felt it also important to share the losses incurred and importance of his tasks as they relate to the big picture and growth model in place for the Company which let him know that although he was only one person - that his voice and engagement was just as importance of the next. Moving forward, i would highlight to Deven that there is nothing worse then excuses given in lieu of an employers expectations. Understandably life happens for everyone so employers can extend compassion and empathy but an entourage of weeks with this undertone of disregard for the needs of the business became redundant and unfortunately created a lack of trust in his capabilities. I am happy to receive, albeit late - the work as desired and can appreciate had he used the time extended as structured, he wouldn't have had so much on his plate this last week or so as i acknowledge must have been pressure filled ! Thank goodness for his work ethic when applied and good communication skills (whether about work or not). I would still work with Deven and don't disregard him as valuable by any means because he is groomable and just starting out in life so learning and mentorship that i hope to have implied even in my criticsms, does come for an endearing place and hope well received.
