Project Description and Scope:

Introduction

The VSE Career Centre is seeking students that are interested in building informational packages intended for BIE students to increase awareness of the resources offered by the VSE Career Centre as well as assist in the successful planning of their degree.

Students would have the opportunity to

  • Research and assemble materials that would be relevant to BIE students in their first years of the program to assist in planning for the rest of their degree
  • Compile resources offered by the VSE Career Centre and/or UBC that promote personal and professional development and synthesize to create guides tailored specifically to BIE students
  • Design page layouts that are easy to understand and inviting for students

We’re looking for someone like you if:

  • You enjoy graphic design and page layout
  • You are creative, with the ability to utilize design principles to increase content engagement
  • You are resourceful with strong research capabilities
  • You like working collaboratively with team members
  • You are aware of different audience needs and how to tailor content to suit them

Qualifications:

  • Excellent writing skills, particularly the ability to write concisely and effectively, for instructional materials
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Able to compile, synthesize, and organize information in a logical and meaningful way
  • Intermediate knowledge of principles of design and some experience with the Adobe Creative Suite for document layout and creation preferred
  • Able to understand and create brand-consistent materials that are stylistically aligned with the Career Centre’s image

Student will receive:

  • Weekly oversight through prescheduled meetings
  • Constant feedback on operations
  • Recommendations and potential to return for other projects after completion
