Children First Canada is launching the Future is NOW: an inaugural event to celebrate Canada's Top 10 U18 Changemakers. The event is taking place on May 7, 2024, in Toronto, ON. We require a social media marketing plan to build awareness about the event, promote nominations for the awards, drive ticket sales/registration, and showcase the youth receiving the awards.

We would like to work with students to design and implement a new social media marketing campaign for the Future is NOW event.

This will involve several different steps for the students, including:

  • Familiarizing themselves with our organization, the event's goals, the social media campaign goals and target market.
  • Identifying social media channels and strategies suitable for our organization and this event.
  • Planning types of campaign content to create for each channel.
  • Identifying metrics to monitor throughout the campaign.
  • Creating a social media content calendar that outlines important steps in the campaign.
  • Recommending social media management tools to schedule our content.
  • Implementing the social media plan.
  • Measuring the campaign's impact.
  • Adjusting the campaign as needed to maximize the reach and impact.
Deliverables

By the end of the project, students should demonstrate:

  • Understanding of our organization and the event's goals
  • Identification of suitable social media channels and strategies
  • Identification of types of campaign content to create
  • Recommending social media management tools
  • Identification of metrics to monitor the campaign’s success
  • Creation of a social media content calendar to organize the campaign
  • Measurement of the campaign's impact.

Final deliverables should include

  • A final report with a social media content calendar.
  • Scheduling social media content calendar.
  • Managing social media campaign engagement.
  • Campaign impact report.
  • A 10-minute presentation on the campaign's impact.
Mentorship

Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project. We will be able to provide answers to questions such as:

  • Our current programs, the event, and social media marketing
  • Industry insights
  • Input on choices, problems or anything else the students might encounter.

Children First Canada is a national charity that aspires to create a country where children can grow up free from the barriers that prevent them from achieving their full potential – starting with the protection of their most basic rights to childhood. As a charity that’s uniquely focused on the rights of children in Canada, we aim to raise awareness of the issues, equip young Canadians as the leaders of today and tomorrow, and unite our country around a shared vision and plan to make this the best place in the world for kids to grow up.
