PROJECT SCOPE

Project Summary

Redesign exciting website for improved functionality, navigation, aesthetics and overall user experience

Project Scope

A survey of our members included feedback on our website. While some feedback indicated that the site was pretty good, others felt it needed a better layout, better organization and a facelift. Last overhaul was done in 2014 and we feel the look, feel and layout needs to be updated and user friendly.

Our website is built on Drupal and want to continue with current website hosting and maintenance which is user friendly and budget friendly to charities and non-profits. As our organization is volunteer run, we don't have the capacity for a steep learning curve that a new system platform requires.

Project Objectives

  • Conduct a needs analysis to determine scope and requirements - may include user feedback, previous surveys conducted.
  • Create design specs and wireframe.
  • Conduct user testing on working prototype, use feedback to optimize design.
  • Applying design thinking theory and practices to create a prototype.

The Canadian Congenital Heart Alliance (CCHA) is a national, volunteer-run registered charitable organization advocating on behalf of children and adults living with congenital heart disease (CHD). Mission: We advocate for and enrich the lives of people with CHD through awareness, education, research and support. Vision: To be the leading voice for enriching the lives of Canadians with CHD. Value Statement: Building a dedicated CHD community that fosters compassion, empowerment and collaboration. 1 in 100 babies are born with a congenital heart defect. Over 250,000 Canadians live with CHD, sadly, there is no cure. Most will require specialized, life-long cardiac care. At least half face the prospect of multiple surgeries and/or premature death, and many develop psycho-social challenges brought on by their condition, such as anxiety, depression, isolation and financial hardship. Fewer resources are available to those with CHD than other cardiac patients and CHD research is underfunded.
