user experience (ux) user interface (ui)Propeller is an action platform that incentivizes engagement by offering users points for completing various actions on behalf of nonprofit partners. Those points can then be used as currency to redeem rewards or entries into sweepstakes.
The platform and functionality have evolved and expanded since we first launched the company four years ago. There's a lot going on for a new user to digest. And we know from experience that most users aren't returning to the platform (or even using their points). But what we don't know is exactly why and we'd love some insight into how we can improve the overall experience.
We would like students to evaluate how effective our site is at telling the story of Propeller and explaining how it works. We'd also like to know what the pain points are for new users, how the process can be improved, and ways in which we can increase user retention along with overall engagement.
We are particularly interested in the following areas:
- Is it clear how Propeller's point system works?
- What are the navigation challenges users face in discovering actions, cause, and rewards?
- Describe the onboarding experience and how you think it could be improved
- What functionality is unclear? Not working properly? Could be improved?
- What are the strengths and weakness of the overall design?
- How would you describe the site's aesthetic and how could it be improved?
- What functionality do similar sites have that we would do well to emulate?
Ultimately, we'd like any team competing to deliver a list of recommendations along with their analysis.
