Details

Project: Human City aims to leverage open city data to develop a map program that identifies optimal business locations. The goal is to create a tool that helps entrepreneurs and business owners make informed decisions about where to establish their businesses, such as placing a restaurant near a park or other amenities. By analyzing various open data sets, such as demographic information, traffic patterns, and proximity to amenities, the map will provide visual and data-driven insights. This project will allow learners to apply their knowledge of data analysis, geographic information systems (GIS), and software development to solve real-world problems. The end product will be a user-friendly, interactive map that highlights potential business hotspots based on the analyzed data.

Deliverables

- A fully functional, interactive map program that uses open city data to highlight optimal business locations.

- A comprehensive report detailing the data sources used, the methodology for data analysis, and the criteria for determining optimal locations.

- User documentation that explains how to use the map program, including any necessary installation instructions and user guides.

- A presentation summarizing the project’s objectives, process, findings, and final product, to be delivered to Project: Human City stakeholders.
