The goal of this project is to research and create reports on certifications and permits needed to sell packaged food in retail stores in Ontario and Canada, as well as packaged food safety laws in Ontario and Canada. ingredients and foods not allowed to be imported in Canada, ingredients and foods not allowed to be included in products sold in Canada, and food allergens, ingredients and preservatives that must be labeled.


Deliverables

By the end of the project, students should be able to create a comprehensive report on:


  1. How to get into retail stores in Canada
  2. All certifications and permits needed to sell packaged food in retail stores in Ontario and Canada.
  3. Packaged food safety laws in Ontario and Canada.
  4. Ingredients and foods not allowed to be imported into Canada.
  5. Ingredients and foods not allowed to be included in products sold in Canada.
  6. Food allergens, ingredients, and preservatives that must be labeled.



Final deliverables should include:


- A written report of the research and findings, including all sources.
