gamification google places mern stack property management application programming interface (api) digital design machine learning user interface (ui) design restaurant operation managementHi there, my name is Tom and I am the founder of Dwellcome, I am a team of one who has bootstrapped this project from day one. My background is in Digital Design, but for the past 7 years, I've been immersed in Property management and being a landlord for some of my family's rental properties. During this time I noticed that a lot of our tenants were having issues adapting to the community when they were new to the area, but also in some cases the country. I wanted to build something for them to accommodate a quick stay and personalized experience.
Dwellcome is an onboarding web application that connects local stores to new residents/newcomers when they move into their new neighborhood through curated neighborhood guides created by welcoming locals.
Each neighbourhood is assigned a geofence, if their new street address falls within one of those fences we populate all available data for that area for the creator of the neighbourhood guide to pick and choose from.
We are working with a lot of data, aggregated data (.CSV) for custom results, and we pull Google Places API data to populate our search results because we are set up for both Canada and the USA.
The application is about to launch its Beta MVP which was outsourced, but there are still some outstanding features that I am looking to implement.
Features include:
1. AI Machine Learning, the amenities recommended to one family might eventually be useful to the next family that moves into the same neighbourhood of the same size. With machine learning, I'd like the application to learn about common persona traits, that if another family of the same stature moves in it could auto-suggest things based on previous recommendations.
2 a. Store sign up, profile management, and incentives, since the pandemic and the struggles a lot of our local stores have faced I pivoted my concept to help them as well and I wanted to make my platform a marketplace. That will allow stores to claim their listing if it already exists in our database, the ability to manage their profile ie: photo, hours, about etc., but also to allow them to offer "Welcome Incentives" to my new resident users as a way to incentivize them to come to their store offer them something in hopes for them to become a future consumer.
2 b. Gamification, we want to reward locals who create neighbourhood guides for newcomers for every amenity recommended ie: store, restaurant, the store owner will receive a notification that they were recommended and they have the option to offer something to the new resident. If they do, and the resident goes to their store to claim it. The local who referred that connection will be rewarded with points which in turn will be able to go towards something larger.
3. Minor UI/Design fixes
If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to me.
Thank you.
Depending on how much supervision/mentorship that student requires I am willing to make as much time needed.
About the company
Dwellcome is an AI hyperlocal onboarding marketplace, where stores, restaurants, and amenities are recommended to new residents when they relocate into a new community. Our local channel partners include Realtors, Airbnb Hosts, and BIA’s who can create digital curated guides based on recommendations to match their client's or guest's lifestyle needs. Store owners will have the ability to manage their digital presence and offer targeted incentives in order to convert new residents into potential future customers. Using AI we will be able to auto-suggest amenities to new residents based on persona traits, location, and their interests.
