Details

In September 2023, a Local Conference of Youth (LCOY) was hosted in Canada. LCOYs are a conference framework from the UNFCCC global youth consistency YOUNGO that invites youth and youth-led entities in a country to come together to build capacity and make policy demands ahead of each year's United Nations Conference on Climate Change (the yearly Conference of Parties for the UNFCCC). Typically these demands are not intentionally distributed within the country the LCOY is hosted in. This project is focused on sharing the youth policy demands from LCOY Canada 2023 with relevant policy makers, decision makers, and groups. The policy demands are focused on the topics of the conference: Low-carbon energy, climate finance, sustainable cities, biodiversity, the ocean, the arctic, food and agriculture, climate justice, and youth-led politics.
