storyboarding animations composting multimedia scripting supply chainFOOD SYNERGY is a multimedia feature documentary being developed in Vancouver BC Canada. It is the first documentary addressing all seven stages of the entire food supply chain. With multimedia styles ranging from song and dance to animation and interviews, it will feature 7 positive stories of local heroes empowering audience members to love food and fight waste from farm to fork. More info: www.foodsynergymovie.ca
We are looking for support to design a storyboard based on a script, to provide guidance for the company creating the animation.
What you will do:
- ANIMATION FOR THE COMPOST CHAPTER: 1 animation of 30 seconds (person with an apple on a plate, eats apple, moves as if to throw the core into the garbage, stops, throws it into the compost instead) followed by 1 animation of 40 seconds (animated explanation of the industrial composting process)
- ANIMATION FOR TRANSITION: 7 very similar animations of around 10 sec. It will introduce each chapter as a transition between sections. An apple will be used as a transitional element from one hero to the other.
- GRAPHICS: Around 50 quick graphic designs: graphics of stats, graphs, and other information on screen next to people as they talk to reinforce what they're saying.
Students will connect directly with the filmmakers for mentorship and supervision throughout the project.
We would also like to mention that we may highlight our student(s) in the documentary!
What you'll learn:
- How to do a short animation efficiently, conveying an education message
- How to be part of the production of a super cool documentary about food from farm to plate
- How to leverage the number one solution to climate change
