We would like insights on how user-friendly our website is. We believe the best way to understand our website’s usability is through studying the User Experience and User Interface. We would like students to evaluate the effectiveness and usability of our website to identify ways to improve the user journey, making it as easy as possible for them to , and increase user satisfaction.

We are particularly interested in the following areas:

  • Setting up Google Analytics for the site
  • Testing and conveying to us your analysis of the functionality of the site
  • The ease for non-profits as they come onboard and update, and how we can smooth that process
  • Embedded videos
  • Ways people using the site leave the site to connect with non-profits

Mentorship

We offer a supportive, inclusive work environment. Each project begins with a team conversation where we set expectations and goals. We proceed with weekly or bimonthly meetings, providing mentorship and guidance in the world of non-profits while making sure that each student is learning and developing. We provide reference letters, feedback and project evaluation.

About the company

Company
Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada
Non-profit, philanthropic & civil society

We want to connect local donors with local non-profits in order to solve issues in our community that exist right now.

Our site came about because we realized there was a disconnect between the community, nonprofits and the work non-profits do.

Much of this became very clear after two community members experienced what it was to live as if they were homeless through the The Sanctum Survivor Challenge.

After the 36-hour-challenge these two community members wanted to give back to the organizations that helped them, and it was a lot harder than they thought it should be. One Small Step Alliance was created.

We believe there should be an easier way to connect so we spent countless hours listening to community members, asking advice, doing surveys, researching, and listening to non-profits so that this space truly serves what is needed, always keeping in mind that we didn't want to recreate something already in place.
