incident response cyber security incident reporting vulnerabilityThe main goal of this project is to plan, implement, manage, monitor and upgrade security measures for the protection of user data and systems for AgSights' bioLinks application. bioLinks is an Inventory and Sales tracking solution for Canadian agricultural businesses.
Working with bioLinks' Lead Full-Stack Developer, Learners will have the opportunity to apply their skills to contribute meaningful recommendations and improvements to bioLinks' CyberSecurity practices across a wide-range of infrastructures. bioLinks includes two web-applications written in Python and React, an iOS application, and an integration with WordPress/WooCommerce for e-commerce that communicate via extensive APIs. We also have integrations with popular payment processing and accounting softwares.
This will involve several different steps for the learners, including:
- Analyzing the existing security measures implemented across bioLinks and offer suggestions for our security policy
- Researching and implementing other security measures to protect data and systems, we are particularly interested in improving security of our WordPress WooCommerce integration, written in PhP, but there is an opportunity to work with Python, iOS and Linux systems as well.
- Develop procedures to mitigate future CyberSecurity attacks
- Detecting and analysing any incidents, review incident reporting, and create an incident response plan
Providing specialized, in-depth knowledge and general industry insights for a comprehensive understanding.
Sharing knowledge in specific technical skills, techniques, methodologies required for the project.
Providing access to necessary tools, software, and resources required for project completion.
Scheduled check-ins to discuss progress, address challenges, and provide feedback.
