Details

Our organization is currently supporting a not for profit client based in Zimbabwe who are seeking to overcome their funding challenges.

We would like to collaborate with students to develop a fundraising plan to meet our goals.

This will involve several different steps for the students, including:

  • Familiarizing themselves with organization's mission, values and goals.
  • Familiarizing themselves with our past fundraising activities and donors.
  • Conducting background research on fundraising strategies.
  • Developing a donor list, areas of support and timeline for call for proposal for each donor (as relevant)
  • Recommending suitable fundraising strategies and creating a timeline / calendar of these activities.

Bonus steps in the process would also include:

  • Creating a draft funding request proposal/template
Deliverables

By the end of the project, students should demonstrate:

  • Understanding of organization mission, values and goals
  • Understanding of org fundraising history
  • Understanding of fundraising strategies used by similar organizations
  • Creation of a fundraising plan

Bonus steps would include:

  • Implementing new fundraising activities, specifically a funding request draft

Final deliverables should include

  • A final report with a new fundraising plan.
Mentorship

Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project. We will be able to provide answers to questions such as:

  • Our mission, values and goals
  • Our previous fundraising activities
  • Input on choices, problems or anything else the students might encounter.
