We had created a website five years ago, this website is outdated and needs improving. Along with a website, we are also going to create a wiki, for internal and external use. As we prefer to work in versions, so there is always work to be done
With new and improved versions coming in the next few weeks/months. This will give the interns a base to start from. Then the interns are working on creating a new/improving the current website and adding a wiki. Due to this, our interns will be working together with a variety of teams to gather information for the website/wiki. Giving them a holistic perspective on how broad a firm is.
During this internship, students are treated as equals. We value their opinions and ask them to present their opinions so we can discuss the topics and potentially adapt the website/wiki accordingly. With the main benefit of seeing all aspects of a firm and how it is developed, whilst giving interns the freedom to develop their skill set.
Skills students will develop:
- Project management
- Communication in a virtual environment
- Familiarity with tools like Discord, Asana and GitLab
- Taking responsibility
- Presentation skills for a business environment.
Some example deliverables that students can complete may include, but are not limited to:
- Website development using WordPress.
- Creating a wiki for internal/external use
- Integrating our website & wiki with other tools
