The main goal for the project is to create a comprehensive online fundraising campaign for the African Canadian Affordable Housing Village Model project. This includes graphic design, website development, social media content, email and newsletter communications, press release correspondences, and other marketing, communications, and administrative tasks needed to build awareness about the project.

Deliverables


- Develop a visually appealing and user-friendly website for the African Canadian Affordable Housing Village Model project.


- Create engaging and informative social media content to promote the fundraising campaign.


- Design eye-catching graphic materials for the campaign, including banners, posters, and promotional images.


- Develop an email and newsletter communication strategy to keep supporters informed about the project and encourage donations.


- Write press releases and correspond with media outlets to generate publicity for the campaign.


- Execute other marketing, communications, and administrative tasks as needed to support the fundraising efforts.


Mentorship

Students will have access to mentorship from staff, the executive director and board members, there will also be access to software, hardware and other tools. Lastly, there will be ample opportunity for networking, making a difference and participating in community initiatives.

In June 2022, the Rwandan Canadian Healing Center (RCHC) and its African Canadian Affordable Housing Solutions Lab partners launched a project which was funded by CMCH’s Solutions Lab. After a year of research and community engagement, the African Canadian Affordable Housing Village Model (ACAH VM) was born. In 2024, the team is working on a financial model and fundraising campaign for the ACAH VM.
