The project goal is to achieve a completed draft of a layout and design for a non-fiction book with text and photographs that will be approximately 100-120 pages in length to portray a biographical sketch of people. This requires book design skills and knowledge of photographic content and working closely with the author to create an eBook and paper copy book for Print on Demand.

The student will:

• create the entire book format
• choose suitable fonts
• create design layouts for the entire book including style for chapters and chapter titles
• produce a table of contents
• add footnotes
• embed photographs within the text pages, including bleeds
• design a cover
• create the title page and copyright page, front matter
• prepare samples of layouts for feedback and choice selection
• At the end of the project the student will have achieved an entire draft of a book design
