competitive analysis project planning business consulting business strategy marketing strategyThis project will work with youth and their staff facilitators to prepare a business case for a social enterprise venture(SEV) that the MSYL group could continue to operate. This case will be presented to Centre for Social Innovation to help secure start up funding. MSYL is based upon a peer-to-peer model to provide meaningful and solutions based engagement from youth. This SEV would provide a revenue stream as well as opportunities for youth to develop new skills, plus experience and knowledge in operating a small business. The components of this comprehensive but clear and concise plan can be based upon the students learned model for a business case but should include:
- Executive Summary
- Objective (for stakeholders SCHC, MSYL and funders)
- Current and Future State Market Analysis (research)
- Project Alternatives (Top 2 or 3)
- Recommended Project (Why #1)
- Implementation Plan (Including Return on Investment and Risk Assessment)
- Conclusion
- References & Appendices.

social service choices, for the well-being of diverse communities.
Vision Statement
Ignite the strength of community
Scarborough Centre for Healthy Communities is an accredited comprehensive community health organization delivering a range of holistic health and wellness services from early years to end of life. We have been serving vulnerable residents (newcomers, visible minorities, families living with poverty, homelessness and unemployment) across Scarborough, who experience many barriers to access, for 47 years.
We are dedicated to meeting these health needs by addressing the physical, mental, social, financial and environmental aspects of our population through our community health, engagement and support services teams.
Our integrated and accessible programming focuses on primary health and disease prevention services, community engagement and wellness support, assisted living and home support services, a food bank, senior wellness and youth leadership activities, and mental health counseling and support. Our organization offers culturally competent programs in a variety of languages that reflect the populations we serve. Our work is driven by standards of excellence in the field and proven practices in our local landscape. SCHC employs approximately 250 staff, engages over 250 core volunteers and operates 42 distinct, integrated programs and services across 10 sites.
