TRU Finance Dept is responsible for all finance and accounting services on campus. We would like a student to help us with the FIA reporting. This is an annual government requirement to publicly disclose certain financial information. We will ensure the student has a clear understanding of the reporting requirements.
Ultimately, you will be working on critical government reporting requirement; you will gain valuable experience and exposure to data analysis and various reporting tools.
A student with excellent organizational skills, understanding of working with large amounts of data, attention to detail, strong communication, and interest in financial accounting and reporting would be the ideal candidate for this project.
To accomplish this, we expect the student(s) will:
· Participate in the collection of Employee and Vendor data.
· Assist with the analysis and matching of various Employee and Vendor listing to Accounts Payable and Payroll subledgers.
· Assist in the compilation of draft versions of FIA report.
· Assist in variance analysis and explanations of major changes to report results.
· Assist in the compilation of final FIA report.
- Participate in the presentation of final report to AVP Finance prior to submission.
- Weekly meetings with supervisor
- Participation in Department meetings
