Details

The Diabetes Sports Camp Support and Funding Initiative aims to enhance the resources and experiences available at the I Challenge Diabetes Sports Camp. The project focuses on securing in-kind donations and grants to support camp activities and infrastructure. Learners will draft compelling in-kind support letters to potential donors, specifically targeting Sugar Valley Farm for equipment use during the camp. Additionally, the project involves researching and applying for relevant grants that align with the camp's mission to provide a supportive environment for individuals with diabetes. By engaging in this project, learners will apply their communication and research skills to real-world scenarios, contributing to the camp's success and sustainability. The project is designed to be completed within a single academic term, allowing learners to see the tangible impact of their efforts.

Deliverables

The project deliverables include a set of professionally crafted in-kind support letters tailored to potential donors, including a specific letter for Sugar Valley Farm. Additionally, learners will produce a comprehensive list of potential grants and submit at least two grant applications. These deliverables will demonstrate the learners' ability to apply classroom knowledge in communication and research to support a meaningful cause.
