sustainable development advocacy project management human developmentThe Inclusion Allies Coalition is a coalition of organizations and practitioners committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion within our organizations and society. We provide resources, advocacy, networking, and webinars to promote inclusion, and serve as allies for those who feel marginalized and advocates for inclusive policies and practices.
The Global Inclusion Index will be an aggregate of 5-7 existing indices that relate to inclusion. The combined scores of these indices by country will create the aggregate Inclusion Index score.
Some existing country indices that are related inclusiion include:
Gender Gap Index - World Economic Forum
Corruption Perceptions Index - Transparency International
World Happiness Report - Sustainable Development Solutions Network
Cato Institute - Human Freedom Index
UN Human Development Index
We would like to know if there are similar rankings to do with disability, sexual orientation and gender identity, or other aspects of inclusion.
1. The intern dedicated to this role would be responsible for identifying indices in addition to those listed above that could be used as part of the aggregate Inclusion Index through Internet searches and other data resources available to the intern.
2. Any indices used should list at least 50 countries and, and have clear links to inclusion, as the 5 listed above do.
3. Once individual indices have been identified and agreed with the project manager, the intern would create a database by country, showing that country's scores on each individual index, and an overall Inclusion score
4. Collected information within be provided to the project manager (Duncan Smith) for additional use for use on additional Riipen project.
The student will have direct access to both Duncan Smith, co-chair of the Global committee of the Inclusion Allies Coalition. Duncan has extensive global Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion experience in corporate, not-for-profit, national and local government organizations. Duncan looks forward to the chance to working with an interested student in the midst of their educational and pre-career phase of life. Duncan is an experienced mentor and coach who can share best practices and lessons learned in the above aforementioned industries.
