Details

In sum, we would like students to help us migrate our social media content from Hootsuite, over to Social Pilot, helping us navigate this transition.

We would like to coordinate with our student about the new platform to ensure our organization's transition from one platform to the next goes smoothly. To facilitate that transition, we would like them to create a help document that includes links to short videos or very specific help topics. A one-time half-hour staff training event would be needed. This event could be pre-recorded, or could be done over Zoom or Microsoft Teams live, as the student chooses/their time zone allows.

Any further notes, optimizations, or social media best practices will also be gratefully welcomed and considered above and beyond towards this project's completion.

If you are ready to tackle this challenge with us, then we'd love to hear from you!

Deliverables

To accomplish this, we expect the student(s) will:

  • Research and/or have some knowledge about social media content manager migration before they begin the migration.
  • Research and become fluently familiar with the Social Pilot social media content management platform.
  • Will incrementally migrate content from one platform to the next.
  • Will ensure that all content moved over has retained it's quality. Correcting any small mistakes, or double checking if errors are suspected is appreciated.
  • Will Create documentation about use of the platform.
  • Will provide one training session.
  • Will complete one final report on the project, which may include some general social media best practices and tips for optimization for our Public Library to the best it can in reaching its community and communicating our culture effectively.
Mentorship

Students will work closely with the primary project manager, Librarian Julia Wagner, who is supervising and available for questions. This will also include occasional progress meetings where adjustments to the students' tasks and duties can be made if necessary.
