grant applications eating disorder treatment literature reviews social media data retrieval research surveying big data writing data collectionThe coordinator will support research collection under the guidance of CEDAA and will develop a bigger informational database the CEDAA can utilize and post on its website and social media platforms regarding Eating Disorders. Areas of inquiry include: What Eating Disorders are (for the general public), Eating Disorder Myths, Eating Behaviours and Disturbances, Clinical Definitions and Associated Behaviours of Eating Disorders (for clinicians and facilitators), Support Strategies for Individuals, Support Strategies for Family Members, Early Prevention Methods, Progressive Coping and Prevention Strategies, and an extensive list of Types of Treatments Available/Resources Available within Western Canada.
The project may include, but is not limited to:
- Overseeing complex data collection, manipulation, and data storage.
- Developing website Eating Disorder Resources
- Planning and performing the outlines and looking after data retrieval (eg, data scraping) and analysis (eg, big data analysis) using existing tools and methods.
- Responsible for complex tasks in relation to data retrieval and analysis.
- Supports the project/study by surveying literature and using existing tools to generate data.
- Conducting literature reviews and contributing to the development of a research foundation
- Writing reports and assisting with writing grant applications in terms of conceptualization and articulation.
Students will work closely with the President, who is supervising and available for questions. This will also include occasional progress meetings where adjustments to the students' tasks and duties can be made if necessary.
About the company
CEDAA is a registered not-for-profit organization with the mission to promote awareness of eating disturbances/behaviours, healthy/normative eating, and eating disorders. CEDAA also provides support for students who have or have had direct or indirect experiences with EDs. Additionally, CEDAA has a heavy focus on Eating Disorder related research in Canada.
