Academic Project Opportunity – Drafting a Patent Application

Are you a law student with a passion for intellectual property and emerging technologies? MCG invites you to take part in a unique academic project involving the preparation of a real patent application for an artificial intelligence (AI) innovation. Objective To offer law students practical experience in drafting a real patent application — from invention disclosure to claim formulation — in a realistic legal and technical context involving AI. Project Scope Participants will be guided through all key stages of the patent drafting process: Reviewing a real AI-based invention and supporting technical materials; Identifying the invention’s key patentable features; Conducting a prior art search using publicly available patent databases; Drafting a preliminary patent application including the title, abstract, detailed description, and at least one claim.
