project planning business consulting business strategy researchOur Sheridan International Business Management Capstone projects run for a duration of 14 weeks (from January to April, May to August) every year. Guided by a faculty member, student consultant groups work with an Industry Client to help them develop an International Business Plan. These projects apply to small, medium and large enterprises.

Requirements
Students are expected to:
• Evaluate the market, industry dynamics and competitors, and determine buyers’ decision making and purchasing behavior.
• Evaluate risks and opportunities.
• Explore regulatory requirements ranging from import/export issues, work permits, product modifications, and regulatory approvals needed. • Explore distribution channel opportunities.
• Develop a plan to implement the proposal including product modifications and approvals, business registrations, product promotions, distribution costs, financial analysis, etc.
The overall project schedule for the winter term:
1. Select and accumulate potential projects – by 1st week of December
2. Faculty to assess and select student-consultant group – by 1st week of January
3. Notify and select applicable student group - by 2nd week of January
4. Client-driven project introduction to students
5. Student-consultant group officially start their research – by 4th week of January
6. Students meet with companies to formulate their Statement of Work – by 4th week of January
7. The timeline is set and finalized between student-consultant group, Client and Faculty
8. The final report and presentation will be delivered – in 3rd week of April
Additional company criteria
Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:
Partners will have a time commitment of approximately 5-20 hours over the course of 14 weeks.
Partners meet with Sheridan business students throughout the semester and will also be asked to provide feedback on assignments.
Partners will be invited to attend a final capstone presentation at the end of the academic term.
