Learner goals and capabilities

Bob Jones University senior engineering students do a solo capstone design project where they design a product or system, from preliminary design to pre-production prototype. These projects are in five areas: aerospace, civil, computer, electrical, and mechanical.

Individual projects
Expected outcomes and deliverables

1. Design report including a detailed design with analysis and simulation results.

2. Design documents (electrical schematics, SolidWorks mechanical drawings, software listings, etc. depending on the project)

3. Typically a prototype device.

As with any academic project, the results are not guaranteed. The quality of the resulting design varies widely from student to student and project to project, but the goal is usually a working pre-production prototype. We work diligently to vet projects and match students to maximize the chance of success.

Additional company criteria

Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

  • Q1 - Text short
Are you willing to fund the materials required to build the prototype, if required for this project?  *
  • Q2 - Text short
Will you be available for online reviews of each milestone?  *
