In the fall semester (Sept to Dec) fourth year Social Work students will work with local social service organizations to support training and resource development for your teams. Working in small groups, these MacEwan University students will work with organizations to design and complete a specified project over 10 weeks. Students will use all the experience and learnings gained throughout their program to consult, plan, and execute your project. These students would love to get some experience working with a community partner and building their community social work skills.

You are invited to student final presentations. Also, you will receive the final paper and presentation of the students' recommendations.

● Assisting organizations to develop and implement trauma informed care

● Developing vision and mission statements for the organization

● Identifying systemic barriers and creative solutions for clients accessing services within an organization

● Working to decolonize ways of knowing and doing within organizations and Anti-racism initiatives

● Work with an organization to create a plan to address a specific challenge they are currently facing

● Creating LGBTQ2S+ inclusive work environments

● Staff wellness initiatives - applying a trauma informed lens to supervising staff

● Applying a gender based analysis lens to organizational policies

● Identifying sustainable social justice initiatives

● Research on a specific social justice need and how the organization can be responsive to this

● Intersectionality approaches

Additional company criteria

Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

Ensure timely transfer of information and firm commitment to scheduled meetings to support project success.

Attend virtual or in-person presentations and/or Q&A sessions with students during the term.

Prompt response when feedback is required (48 hours).

Be available for a quick phone call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the course.

Availability to meet with your student consultant at least three times throughout the term

Provide a dedicated contact who is available to answer periodic emails or phone calls over the duration of the project to address students' questions.
