An adept management of employee relations is pivotal to a healthy and productive work environment. In this project, students work with a community partner to:

1. To enhance student awareness and understanding of corporate purposes and applications of human resource policies.

2. To provide practical experience with policy development and audit.

3. To facilitate student awareness of municipal employment contexts in general.

Expected outcomes and deliverables

Students complete a series of progressive segments that ultimately provides C10 with: 1) a draft policy audit tool, 2) sample audit scores on existing policies, 3) drafts revisions of policies, and 4) comments regarding expected causes and indicators of policy staling. Students also complete an ‘assignment learnings’ reflection document.
