This project was invaluable to my education as a researcher. Not only did I end up with a first-author published article in an academic journal (which will strengthen my application to graduate studies), but I also gained an extensive first-hand experience in the field with a wide variety of skills added to my capabilities. Moving forward, I feel significantly more competent as a scientist and very well prepared to complete my honours thesis and continue my work in my eventual graduate and hopefully doctoral studies.
