This is part of a gradual multi-step learning experience in Indigenous perspectives training and facilitation. Depending on experience and progression students may leap to another project.
This project is designed for people who identify as Indigenous.
Project Details: Students will engage with 6 Indigenous Perspectives videos, complete corresponding reflection pages for each, and attend respective team meetings.
Students will begin to familiarize themselves with IISB’s purpose and objectives, overall project missions, the Indigenous Perspectives team, as well as other IISB family members.
Students will shadow and work alongside the Communications and Indigenous Perspectives teams to develop the skills to facilitate meetings effectively and become guardians to Indigenous Speakers and Knowledge Carriers from around the globe.
The goal of this project is to help students reframe their approach to event planning and facilitation while developing an understanding of event coordination logistics and procedures within an Indigenous organization.

Interns at The International Indigenous Speakers Bureau (IISB) will be provided an opportunity to connect and engage with various Indigenous speakers, leaders, Knowledge carriers from around the world. For non-Indigenous students this engagement will give the intern a rare opportunity into the world view and perspectives of Indigenous People and their culture. For Indigenous students this engagement will give the intern an opportunity to expand upon their own knowledge of other Indigenous communities' perspectives and worldviews, as well as a chance to possibly dive deeper into their own cultural connections.
At IISB, we provide a safe and supportive environment where interns can learn, discuss, and unpack their questions and feelings as they go through the Indigenous Perspectives Education and Training.
