Details

The team will empathize with the user and uncover why a problem exists for parents.

This is a User Experience (UX) research project to identify ideal personas to target and create a recommendation to prioritize “jobs to be done” for the user.

How this project will impact the company

We are launching the product later this year and will use the recommendations from this project to:

  • Persona segmentation will inform Go-To-Market plans
  • “Jobs to Be Done” list will guide the direction of the product roadmap.
  • Qualitative research interviews will help build empathy and understanding with the target user
  • Quantitative analysis helps understand what the “real” population cares about and will help to direct product market fit.

About this new product that we're launching

Those Kids AI is an AI Assistant for busy parents with busy kids. It was built to help parents create time and space for what’s most important - ourselves, our children, and our families. The time required to schedule, coordinate, and manage a child’s schedule can be a full-time job. And when a parent drops the ball, they feel so guilty.

We are building a product to help parents. The product does the heavy lifting of reading, scanning, and scheduling things on behalf of the parent.

Deliverables

This is an end-to-end UX Research project.

By the end of the project, students should complete the following list of activities

Developed a research plan that includes at least 1 quantitative and 1 qualitative design-based research method.

  • Create an interview guide, recruited/screened participants, interviewed participants, analyzed the responses, and extracted interview snippets for “user voice”
  • Created a survey about parent and family background, preferences, and solutions and

Created a report that:

  • Synthesizes trends within primary data collected through quantitative and qualitative design-based research methods about the user
  • Identify different personas uncovered
  • Analyzing trends within primary data collected through the survey and interviews
  • Create a journey map
  • Prioritized “jobs to be done”/pain points.

Presented to the CEO

  • Results of the UX research project
  • Recommended Persona to target
  • Critical "Jobs-to-be-done" that must be addressed
  • Recommendation for additional UX Research
Mentorship

Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project. We will be able to provide answers to questions such as:

  • Information about our product
  • Current product roadmap
  • Snippets from previous interviews
  • Existing data collected from the waitlist survey
  • Input on choices, problems, or anything else the students might encounter.
