Positions available: 1-2 students (estimated 160 hour project). Individuals or teams of 2 are encouraged to apply.

Wellness and Psychological Services is seeking 1-2 students to engage in a project that involves exploring the topic of eco-grief and the impact on the student population. This position involves conducting and synthesizing evidence-based research to create materials that teach students practical skills to manage their experiences of eco-grief.

Deliverables

This project entails, but is not limited to:

  • Engaging in a literature review on eco-grief and the psychological impacts on students/adults
  • Gather resources within the community that exist to support students with their experiences of eco-grief
  • Using existing research to inform the creation of an eco-grief peer-support group for students
  • Synthesizing research on eco-grief into practical resources to support students (e.g., toolkits, short videos, handouts, etc)
  • Creating engaging content to stimulate interest from a university student audience
Mentorship

The selected candidates will be communicating directly with Helena Dayal for guidance, instruction, and support. This may occur via email, phone, videoconferencing, or in-person meetings. The secondary contact would be Sydney Bennell.
