The primary objective is to complete the development of the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) for Wealthcopilot, a fintech SaaS platform. The platform is designed to empower DIY investors with financial planning and investment tools. Some development work toward the MVP has already progressed, and the selected developers will contribute to finalizing the MVP collaboratively with the CEO and CTO.
We are looking to onboard two talented developers from the Achēv: Innovations in FinTech program to join the Wealthcopilot team.
Tasks Participants Will Complete to Achieve the Project Goal
- Feature Development and Software Design
- Outcomes: Core functionalities of Wealthcopilot MVP will be completed and enhanced, providing a strong foundation for the app.
- Deliverables:
- Final development of key modules, including financial planning, budgeting, and portfolio simulation.
- Integration of a responsive user interface using JavaScript/TypeScript, Svelte/Sveltekit and Tailwind CSS.
- Regular code reviews to ensure quality and maintainability.
- User Interface Design
- Outcomes: A user-friendly interface that aligns with the needs of DIY investors, simplifying complex financial concepts.
- Deliverables:
- Wireframes and prototypes for app pages and workflows.
- Feedback-driven improvements based on usability testing.
- Consistent design documentation for future iterations.
- Version Control and Collaboration
- Outcomes: Streamlined and efficient teamwork using modern development tools and workflows.
- Deliverables:
- Maintenance of a shared repository on GitHub or GitLab.
- Weekly commits with detailed documentation of changes.
- Collaboration on pull requests and issue tracking.
- Technical Documentation
- Outcomes: Comprehensive technical documentation to support future scalability and updates.
- Deliverables:
- API documentation for backend integrations.
- User manuals for each developed module.
- Final project report detailing processes, challenges, and resolutions.
- Testing and Debugging
- Outcomes: A robust and error-free MVP ready for user feedback and beta testing.

- Unit testing for individual components.
- Integration testing for the overall application.
- Bug tracking and resolution logs.
- Project Management and Reporting
- Outcomes: Timely progress tracking and delivery of project milestones.

- Weekly status updates to track development progress.
- Bi-weekly project reports summarizing achievements and areas for improvement.

Skills Development and Mentorship
- Improve your skills in TypeScript/JavaScript, SQL, Svelte, CSS and Web and Financial API integrations.
- Participants will receive mentorship from both the CEO and CTO of Wealthcopilot, gaining valuable insights into fintech entrepreneurship and technical leadership.
- Multiple stand-up meetings per week will ensure clear communication and task alignment.
- Collaborative coding and problem-solving sessions with the CTO and CEO will occur throughout the week, fostering hands-on learning and teamwork.
- Developers will actively collaborate with the leadership team to complete the final version of the MVP.
Proposed Timeline
- Week 1: Onboarding and understanding project requirements.
- Week 2–8: Completion of core features and finalizing UI designs.
- Week 9–10: Testing, debugging, and iteration based on feedback.
- Week 11–12: Final adjustments, documentation, and MVP presentation.
