Software Development - Web App for Wealthcopilot MVP
Software Development - Web App for Wealthcopilot MVP The primary objective is to complete the development of the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) for Wealthcopilot , a fintech SaaS platform. The platform is designed to empower DIY investors with financial planning and investment tools. Some development work toward the MVP has already progressed, and the selected developers will contribute to finalizing the MVP collaboratively with the CEO and CTO. We are looking to onboard two talented developers  from the Achēv: Innovations in FinTech program to join the Wealthcopilot team. Tasks Participants Will Complete to Achieve the Project Goal Feature Development and Software Design Outcomes: Core functionalities of Wealthcopilot MVP will be completed and enhanced, providing a strong foundation for the app. Deliverables: Final development of key modules, including financial planning, budgeting, and portfolio simulation. Integration of a responsive user interface using JavaScript/TypeScript , Svelte/Sveltekit  and Tailwind CSS . Regular code reviews to ensure quality and maintainability. User Interface Design Outcomes: A user-friendly interface that aligns with the needs of DIY investors, simplifying complex financial concepts. Deliverables: Wireframes and prototypes for app pages and workflows. Feedback-driven improvements based on usability testing. Consistent design documentation for future iterations. Version Control and Collaboration Outcomes: Streamlined and efficient teamwork using modern development tools and workflows. Deliverables: Maintenance of a shared repository on GitHub or GitLab. Weekly commits with detailed documentation of changes. Collaboration on pull requests and issue tracking. Technical Documentation Outcomes: Comprehensive technical documentation to support future scalability and updates. Deliverables: API documentation for backend integrations. User manuals for each developed module. Final project report detailing processes, challenges, and resolutions. Testing and Debugging Outcomes: A robust and error-free MVP ready for user feedback and beta testing. Deliverables: Unit testing for individual components. Integration testing for the overall application. Bug tracking and resolution logs. Project Management and Reporting Outcomes: Timely progress tracking and delivery of project milestones. Deliverables: Weekly status updates to track development progress. Bi-weekly project reports summarizing achievements and areas for improvement. Final MVP demo and presentation. Employer Commitment Wealthcopilot will provide: Access to tools, resources, and development environments. Weekly mentorship and collaborative guidance from the CEO and CTO. Regular stand-up meetings and problem-solving sessions to support participants. A collaborative and learning-focused project culture. Development of a Canadian Retirement Income Calculator for Wealthcopilot Project Overview Category:Â Software Development, Financial Planning Tools Skills Required:Â Software development (JavaScript/TypeScript, Tailwind CSS), financial analysis, user interface design, version control, documentation. We are looking for 3-5 students to collaborate on this project together. Goals The primary objective of this project is to develop a comprehensive Canadian Retirement Income Calculator for Wealthcopilot using JavaScript/TypeScript and Tailwind CSS. Preferably, the development should utilize Svelte/SvelteKit, but this is not mandatory. This tool will help users estimate their retirement income from various sources, including the Old Age Security (OAS) pension and Canada Pension Plan (CPP) retirement benefits. Students will gain hands-on experience in software development and financial planning, contributing to Wealthcopilot's mission to empower DIY investors with essential tools. Learning Outcomes Develop practical skills in software development using JavaScript/TypeScript and Tailwind CSS. Gain experience in creating user-friendly interfaces for financial tools. Understand the integration of government-provided financial information into user-centric applications. Enhance problem-solving and project management skills through real-world application development.
