Details
  • Understanding Business Strategy:Learners will learn about the business goals, mission, and products by interacting with various employees. This understanding is crucial for creating an effective financial plan.
  • Financial Forecasting:Learners will use tools like Excel (or other financial software) to create sales forecasts for the first year of operation. These forecasts will include both conservative and aggressive scenarios.
  • Additionally, learners will project income based on different assumptions.
  • Expense Budget Development:Learners will collaborate with the team to develop an expense budget. This involves estimating costs related to operations, marketing, personnel, and other business activities.
  • Break-Even Analysis:Learners will conduct a break-even analysis using financial projections. This analysis helps determine the point at which revenue equals expenses, indicating when the business becomes profitable.
  • Reporting and Visualization:Learners will report on projected assets and liabilities, providing a clear picture of the business’s financial health.
  • Visual aids such as graphs and charts will be used to compare conservative and aggressive income projections.
Deliverables
  • Sales Forecast and Income Projection:Learners should create a sales forecast for the first year of operations. This involves estimating the expected revenue based on market research, historical data, and growth projections.
  • Additionally, learners need to develop an income projection that considers different scenarios (conservative and aggressive).
  • Break-Even Analysis:Conduct a break-even analysis using the sales forecast and the expense budget. The break-even point is the level of sales at which total revenue equals total expenses.
  • Assets and Liabilities Analysis:Analyze projected assets (such as equipment, inventory, and intellectual property) and liabilities (such as loans, payables, and other financial obligations) that the company will have in the first year of operations.
  • Visual Presentation:Create visual aids (graphs, charts, etc.) to illustrate the differences between the conservative and aggressive income projections. Visuals enhance understanding and make the report more engaging.

Final Deliverables:

  • A comprehensive report that includes:Sales forecast
  • Income projection
  • Expense budget
  • Break-even point calculation
  • Detailed assets and liabilities overview
  • Assumptions used in the analysis

A 30-minute presentation explaining all research findings and insights from the report.
