The primary goal of this project is to increase Village Impact's visibility, engage with a wider audience, and enhance brand recognition through strategic public relations (including podcasts, media placements, and content creation) and social media growth strategies (focusing on Instagram and Facebook). The students will create and implement a comprehensive growth plan for these channels, ensuring measurable results in audience reach, engagement, and donations for Village Impact’s educational initiatives in Kenya.

Deliverables

Key Deliverables:

1 Public Relations Strategy:

  • Develop a media outreach strategy to secure podcast features and free media placements (e.g., blogs, articles in magazines, online platforms).
  • Identify and connect with potential media outlets, journalists, and podcasters relevant to Village Impact’s mission.
  • Write and distribute press releases, pitch emails, and tailored content that highlights the work and impact of Village Impact.
  • Create and implement a content calendar for media outreach and communication.

2 Content Creation & Media Placements:

  • Write articles and blog posts that align with Village Impact’s core mission, showcasing their impact in the communities of Kenya and the role of entrepreneurship in driving education.
  • Develop content for media outlets, focusing on educational development, sustainable impact, and Village Impact’s unique approach.
  • Secure media placements in niche blogs, educational publications, and social enterprise platforms.
  • Organize and manage guest appearances or interviews for Village Impact leaders (e.g., Amy and Stu McLaren) on relevant podcasts.

3 Instagram & Facebook Growth Strategy:

  • Conduct a social media audit for both Instagram and Facebook, analyzing current engagement, follower demographics, and content performance.
  • Develop a growth strategy tailored to Village Impact’s audience, with a focus on organic growth, increasing followers, and improving engagement rates.
  • Identify and create a content plan that aligns with Village Impact’s mission, ensuring a mix of educational, inspirational, and call-to-action content.
  • Implement strategies to increase interaction with posts (e.g., contests, polls, hashtag strategies).
  • Develop a regular posting schedule, including Instagram Reels, Stories, posts, and Facebook updates.
  • Use insights and analytics to track growth and adjust strategies as needed.

4 Implementation & Execution:

  • Execute the media outreach strategy, including distributing press materials and securing placements.
  • Schedule and post content according to the established calendar for both Instagram and Facebook.
  • Monitor social media channels for engagement, responding to comments, messages, and monitoring community interactions.
  • Coordinate interviews, podcast appearances, and feature opportunities for Village Impact leaders.
