This LEVEL UP Educator - Content Developer will...

  • work for 80 hours to complete a minimum of 10 lesson plans for a variety of grades in elementary and secondary schools (depending on experience and expertise)
  • create educational content for Indigenous Speaker Presentation videos sourced from IISB’s various Indigenous speakers and knowledge keepers
  • work on a team of educators and video producers, planning and organizing lesson plans
  • recieve instruction and support on the process of creating the lessons from speaker videos with a dedicated support team
  • work with other teachers from various provinces who will be developing curriculum connections to accompany the videos

We’re looking for someone who has…

  • ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member with people from diverse backgrounds
  • able to learn and work with other software systems including Cloud storage
  • ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • strong attention to details
  • excellent time management skills
  • strong organizational and planning skills

QUALIFICATIONS:

• ability to communicate effectively with students and teachers from a variety of backgrounds

• can demonstrate an ability and a passion for building bridges between Indigenous and non-indigenous peoples.

• can demonstrate an understanding and deep appreciation for Indigenous Culture and Peoples, within Canada and/or globally.

• ability to take constructive criticism and utilize as steppingstones to their growth and development.

WORK CONDITIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

• able to work independently and from home

• have sufficient computer and reliable internet access

DUTIES:

• attend scheduled virtual planning meetings

• participate in IISB orientation and training

• collaborate with teams to create educational materials for videos
