This Level Up Project is for Administrators who wish to learn and develop their Administrative skills across cultures. This is an 80-hour project and a prerequisite for additional administration projects.

This internship is the next step of a gradual, multiple-step learning experience designed to allow participants to explore their own unique strengths and interests, while beginning or expanding upon their own Indigenization journey.

Project Details: Students will engage with 6 Indigenous Education videos, complete corresponding reflection pages for each, and attend respective team meetings.

Students will begin to familiarize themselves with the IISB family, peoples & culture guide, overall project missions, as well as shadowing our CEO’s Executive Assistant, Communications, Building Relations, and other applicable department leads.

Throughout the internship, IISB and its Executive Assistant(s) will equip the participant with the educational resources and support required to confidently; oversee activity and in administration across IISB departments, work in relationship with Indigenous Speakers and Knowledge carriers, and champion the voices of Indigenous communities with intention.

Students who complete this level of administrative training will then be eligible to go on to the next level of administration projects.

We are looking for individuals eager to develop their skills in administration and garner experience working within Indigenous frameworks. While all are welcome to apply for this unique opportunity, we strongly encourage applications from students enrolled in or with equivalent experience in communications, political science, public relations, office administration, and other relevant programs.

For Indigenous students this engagement will give the intern an opportunity to expand upon their own knowledge of other Indigenous communities' perspectives and worldviews, as well as a chance to possibly dive deeper into their own cultural connections.

At IISB, we provide a safe and supportive environment where interns can learn, discuss, and unpack their questions and feelings as they go through the Indigenous Perspectives Education and Training.
