Choco4Peace Fund Development Coordinator

Title: Fund Development Coordinator

Status: Full/Part-Time; minimum 4 month commitment

Location: Montreal, Quebec or remote

Reports to: Partnership and Growth Director

Salary Range: Pro bono; Choco4Peace digital assets (may apply)

Our Mission: Building Lives With Dignity

As a Fund Development Coordinator in the Partnership and Growth portfolio, you will use your head, your heart, and your hands in building a movement to transform the cacao sector in Colombia. We support rural and remote populations to lift themselves out of poverty, build peace in their communities, and most importantly, build lives with dignity. Your contribution will be essential to help us find the resources we need in order to carry out our mission. This will require careful planning and execution. As our new co-conspirator, your contributions will include:

  • Collaborate with the Partnership and Growth Director and Development Coordinator on the fund development strategy
  • Building relationships based on trust with a wide range of partners and customers (government, academia, NGOs, private sector)
  • Grant writing
    • Research and collect data on organizations offering grants
    • Research and monitor call for proposals
    • Grant writing and building application proposals
    • Track grant development targets and build on previous year achievements
  • Conference & Events
    • Research and monitor conferences and events in these areas: international development, disruptive technology, peacebuilding, chocolate, finance, agriculture.
    • Support in writing applications
    • Track previously attended conferences and events and opportunities for future participation
  • Admin
    • Ensure all deadlines and deliverables are met
    • Take part in team meetings
    • Manage timelines and track tasks completed
    • Organize and update portfolio database

Qualifications

  • You are a scholarly human with a major in social sciences, international development, business, administration or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a relevant field and willing to learn and be taught.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite software, Google Docs. Experience with project management tools such as Asana, Slack and CRM type software is an asset.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills (English and French), Spanish is an asset.
