This project will enable learners to apply their knowledge of web development, user interface design, and database management. The project will focus on creating a user-friendly interface that simplifies client management tasks and enhances productivity for consulting firms. Key features to be developed include client profiles, appointment scheduling, and a reporting module. The project is designed to be completed by a team of learners specializing in web development and design, ensuring a cohesive skill set.
Competitive Analysis
Our company has been serving thousands of customers for decades. We want to better understand how our target audience perceives our brand and competitors. This will help us develop clarity on our competitive advantages and optimize our marketing strategy. We would like to collaborate with students to conduct a competitive analysis of our business. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: Familiarizing themselves with our company, products, and target market. Identifying current and potential future competitors. Creating a matrix identifying features that are similar and different between companies. Summarizing our competitive advantages and disadvantages relative to the competition identified. Bonus steps in the process would also include: Recommending how our company can differentiate itself through products / services and messaging.
Store Layout Optimization
We have been serving customers for decades, and we would like to increase sales in our store. We believe that changing the layout of our shop could lead to more revenue per customer. We would like to collaborate with students to generate profitable layouts for our store. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: Familiarizing themselves with our products and services. Researching commonly used floor plans in stores. Considering factors such as traffic flow, customer behaviour, product placement, displays, and customer amenities. Creating a blueprint of a recommended store layout. Bonus steps in the process would also include: Recommending changes to improve our store’s accessibility.
Digital Marketing Strategy
We are looking to develop a comprehensive digital marketing strategy that will effectively grow our brand and engage with our target market. Students will conduct market research, analyze existing digital marketing trends, and assess our current digital presence. The aim is to create a strategic plan that leverages various digital channels, optimizes our budget, and aligns with our company’s goals. We want students to help us develop a tailored digital marketing strategy that will increase our brand visibility and drive engagement within our target market. The strategy should take into account our specific industry dynamics, customer preferences, and competitor activities. Students will be expected to: Market Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough research to understand our target audience, including demographics, behaviors, and preferences. Analyze competitors’ digital marketing strategies and identify opportunities for differentiation. Evaluate current trends in digital marketing, including emerging channels and techniques, and recommend which ones we should focus on. Channel Strategy: Identify which social media platforms and digital channels (e.g., SEO, content marketing, email marketing, PPC, influencer marketing) would be most effective in reaching and engaging our target audience. Recommend a strategy for each selected channel, including content types, frequency, and tone of messaging. Budgeting and Resource Allocation: Propose an optimal budget allocation across different digital marketing channels, justifying the choices based on potential ROI and impact. Suggest how we can maximize our marketing budget, including cost-effective strategies and potential partnerships or collaborations. Messaging and Brand Positioning: Develop key messaging guidelines that align with our brand identity and resonate with our target audience. Create sample content (e.g., social media posts, email templates) that exemplifies the recommended tone and style. Recommend strategies for consistent brand messaging across all digital platforms. Performance Metrics: Suggest KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) to measure the success of the digital marketing strategy. Propose methods for ongoing monitoring and optimization of the strategy, including tools and reporting structures.
Mobile App UI / UX Design & Prototype
Our company would like to explore designing a prototype for a native mobile application version of our current web based product. We currently have a lot of traffic to our product via the web and we would like to start to attempt to capture some of that user activity via a mobile application. Tasks may include: Conducting background research on our existing web application for the product. Identifying key areas of our current product and how they might translate to a mobile application. Learning and using various software design tools. We strongly recommend students learn how to use Figma as this is the latest and greatest tool currently available. Creation of a screen by screen UX / UI prototype of a native mobile application which can be used on both iOS and Android Conducting UX / UI testing with real potential users potentially involving paper prototypes or other software tools to support this
Website Development
Our company advertises thousands of products online. We hope to update and revamp our existing website to attract more customers. We would like to work with students to develop a new website that is easy to maintain while providing an appealing interface for users. This can be achieved through common site building tools such as Wix, Webflow, and WordPress. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: Researching different site-building tools and their associated advantages / disadvantages. Conducting a needs analysis to determine which platform is most suitable. Building a website, with our assistance in providing the content. Providing training on updating and maintaining the website. Bonus steps in the process would also include: Testing prototypes with customers and refining ideas with feedback.
Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning Application
Our company advertises thousands of products, and we want to leverage the latest technology to gain market advantage. Applications of this technology include recommendation algorithms, predictive analytics like lifetime values, fraud detections, and classifications. We would like to collaborate with students to apply the latest artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) techniques to our existing dataset. Students will develop an AI / ML model related to any of the aforementioned applications. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: Conducting background research on our existing products and the dataset. Analyzing our current dataset. Researching the latest AI / ML techniques and how they could be applied to our data. Developing an AI / ML model that provides unique outcomes or insights into our data. Providing multiple solutions that can be applied to solve the same problem.
